Job Description

The Mascot is a high-energy, outgoing individual who performs as the Wilson Warbirds mascot at home games, non-game day events at Wilson Warbirds Stadium, and community appearances throughout North Carolina. Team members wear the mascot costume and are responsible for engaging with fans, entertaining crowds, and participating in pregame activities and on-field promotions.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Perform as the Wilson Warbirds mascot at Warbirds home games
  • Perform as the Wilson Warbirds mascot at community events such as non-profit events, birthday parties, weddings, and events held by Warbirds’ sponsors
  • Perform as the Wilson Warbirds mascot at various events held at Wilson Warbirds Stadium on non-game days, such as graduations, private parties, trade shows, and company meetings
  • Must always act as a Warbirds brand ambassador when in costume
  • Greet and engage with fans to enhance their experience
  • Sign autographs and pose for pictures
  • Collaborate with the promotions and entertainment teams to execute in-game skits, videos, and theme nights
  • Assist in developing new mascot routines, props, and crowd engagement ideas
  • Maintain the mascot costume, keeping it clean and in good condition
  • Mascot staff may also be considered for seasonal game day roles with the Flight Crew, part of the seasonal Entertainment department

Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Must be able to tolerate heat and other weather conditions well; required to move and perform, in costume, both indoors and outdoors
  • Must be at least 16 years of age
  • Must have strong customer service skills, work well with children and perform under high stress levels

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Work Hours                                                          

Hours vary according to the game and event schedule, which will include weekends and some holidays.

Must have availability to work most games and special events
