Job Description

The Promotions Manager is responsible for bringing first-class memories to the Wilson Warbirds community by planning, promoting, and executing our promotional calendar throughout the year. Collaborate with multiple departments, including Sponsorship, Merchandise, and Tickets, to help generate revenue for the team by utilizing effective branding and marketing initiatives.

 

Core duties for this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Collaborate on the development of individual theme nights by booking costumed characters, offering on-field enhancements, working with local and private organizations and tying each theme night into various departments (merchandise, food and beverage, tickets etc.) to provide a best-in-class fan experience.
  • Provide graphics, messaging, scripts, and game and event agendas to related parties.
  • Maintain and update game day sheets, marketing elements, promotional calendar.
  • Build relationships with outside vendors for all theme and promotional nights, to establish and maintain positive relationships to ensure seamless event execution.
  • Ensure all contractual obligations are communicated clearly to performers and entertainment vendors. Lead pre-event site visits and oversee day of events.
  • Plan and execute all on-field and videoboard promotional activities to ensure the activation of sponsored contract obligations are fulfilled.
  • Execute mascot activations for team-wide branding initiatives, digital and social media strategy, retail merchandising, media appearances and interviews, etc.
  • Assist in maintaining promotions, production, and entertainment budgets.
  • Obtain Certificates of Insurance (COI) from all outside vendors, including performers and entertainment services and verify that insurance coverage meets event requirements and collaborate with vendors to address any deficiencies.
  • Hire, train, manage, and schedule the promotions team including Interns, Mobile 50/50, Information Booth, Check-In Kiosk, Promo Crew, Mascots, and On-Field Emcee.
  • Lead homestand and game day production meetings with the Front Office and Promotions Crew to ensure cross-departmental communication, while overseeing all pre-game, in-game, and post-game entertainment elements such as ceremonial first pitches, contestant selections, mascot skits, etc.
  • Lead ongoing trainings for Promotional staff including finding contestants to participate in promotional games and contests, execution of skits and promotions, community appearance standard operating procedures and protocols.
  • Assist in the ordering, designing, processing and distribution of promotional items, giveaways, and ensure sponsorship fulfillment obligations are met.
  • Manage and keep inventory of marketing and promotional storage areas to replenish mascot and promotional team appearance needs.
  • Coordinate, schedule, and maintain inventory of all past and present National Anthem singers.
  • Assist Videographer with coordination and execution of Media Day with players to collect all digital content and team needs for the season.
  • Oversee all logistics for movie nights including securing movie licensing and completing post-event audience reports.
  • Maintain a detailed account of all community mascot appearances and report mascot revenue if applicable.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds.  The employee must be able to run for short periods of time. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.

 

Work Hours                                                          

Business hours are Monday – Friday 9:00am – 5:00 pm, however, additional hours will be required on weekends, evenings and some holidays. Must work all home games.
