  • Overview

    This position reports to the Senior Vice President of Communications and Affiliate Operations. It is responsible for overseeing business and corporate communications as well as planning and execution of select special events.

    • Execute PR campaigns and communications related to all non-baseball activities for the organization. Key areas of focus for publicity will include ticket sales, promotions, corporate marketing, community relations/Brewers Community Foundation, ownership initiatives and facility operations.
    • Coordinate with Marketing, Broadcasting and Social Media departments to establish comprehensive communications strategies and campaigns on an annual and ad-hoc basis.
    • Serve as one of the primary points of contact for media; coordinates interview requests and interview preparation for senior executives.
    • Plan and execute business-related press conferences and other media activities.
    • Create talking points for Brewers ownership and executives.
    • Maintain communications calendar and plan upcoming announcements based on strategic timing.
    • Manage relationship with outside PR consultants.
    • Create and manage Business Communications department budget.
    • Coordinate with Baseball Communications department on campaigns and initiatives that include crossover with uniformed personnel or baseball-side executives.
    • Lead planning, management and execution of multiple special events and projects as assigned. Examples include:
      • Special Brewers Anniversary/Reunion/Honors activities (dinners, parties, programs, statue unveilings)
      • Ribbon-cutting and groundbreaking ceremonies for special projects
      • Miller Park Walk of Fame
      • Miller Park Wall of Honor
      • Milwaukee Braves Honor Roll
      • Brewers On Deck activities
      • Negro Leagues and Cerveceros Tributes
      • Other Media / Communications events as assigned
    • Review and refine crisis communications plans for the organization.
    • Oversee enhancements and functionality of the Brewers Ballpark App.
    • Establishment and management of Brewers Historical Archives (through bvendor)
    • Assist with all day of game activities and pre-game events involving hosting of special guest
    • Assist in coordination of guests/visitors utilizing Communications game day opportunities (e.g. suites, tickets, etc.).
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Education and/or Experience

    Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; and five-to-seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. Special events experience preferred. 


    Computer Skills  

    To perform the job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and Internet Explorer.     


    Language Skills                                                

    Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write detailed correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.


    Mathematical Skills                                                     

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.


    Reasoning Ability      

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

    Work Hours                                                     

    Business hours are Monday – Friday 9 am – 5pm, however, additional hours will be required on weekends, evenings and some holidays, including (but not limited to) home game days and special events.
