  • Overview

    Responsible for providing administrative and operational support to the Special Events Department, which oversees non-baseball events at Miller Park.

    Responsibilities

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.  Other duties may be assigned.

    • Provide administrative support to the Special Events Department.
    • Assist with inquiries for potential events as well as showings, reservations and event execution.
    • Coordinate with vendors for event rentals, deliveries, services and invoicing.
    • Act as the Special Events Department point-of-contact for select events, including occasional weekends.
    • Schedule and coordinate with other internal departments to satisfy staffing needs for special events.
    • Assist with the coordination and execution of internal, Club-hosted events.
    • Manage event calendar for internal staff trainings and other event requests and act as point of contact on event day.
    • Assist Manager – Special Events with event marketing materials, department files and contract management.

    Qualifications

    • Qualified candidates must have strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
    • Candidates should have an interest in Hospitality, Special Events or Event Planning.

    Education and/or Experience

    Associates degree from college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

     

    Computer Skills  

    To perform the job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft office software including Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and Internet Explorer.    

     

    Language Skills                                                

    Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

     

    Mathematical Skills                                                     

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

     

    Reasoning Ability      

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

    Work Hours                                                     

    This position is Casual hourly (approximately 30-40 hours/week).  Regular Business Office hours are Monday-Friday 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, although office hours vary pending scheduled events.  Additional hours are required on early mornings, nights, weekends, holidays and home games if necessary.
