  • Overview

    Director of Marketing/Community Relations is responsible for the marketing strategy of the Mudcats organization and the effective execution of the strategies.

    • Participate in development of, lead, and execute organizational marketing strategy
    • Ensure brand consistency and messaging both internally and externally following brand guidelines and standards
    • Collect and effectively use data gathered from both traditional and non-traditional marketing platforms to make decisions
    • Conduct market research to develop strategies for target demographics
    • Execution with marketing agency
      • work closely on SEO, SEM, and paid social advertising
      • conduct SEO A/B testing in coordination with marketing agency to positively impact user experience
      • use marketing budget to devise annual media flowchart (cash and trade)
    • Brief and collaborate with Creative Services Department to develop marketing assets and (video) content, including development of scripts and copy and digital ad banners
    • Identify trade opportunities (events, print, and digital)
    • Develop and conduct email marketing campaigns
    • Develop and execute social media strategy in close collaboration with Communications department
    • Act as cross-functional leader between Creative Services, Communications, and Ticket departments
      • input all creative service requests
      • communicate marketing strategy to each department in advance
    • Assist Corporate Partnerships department with B2B lead generation campaigns
    • Manage and develop stadium branding
    • Lead weekly marketing meetings
    • Track all expense items
    • Assist with game day activities as assigned/needed.
    • Develop local and grassroots marketing plan
    • Oversee Community Relations initiatives and operations

      • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, often on multiple projects
      • Excellent communication and organizational skills
      • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
      • Experience in as many of the following areas of consumer marketing: traditional and digital media buying and planning, customer relationship management (CRM), marketing automation, advertising, social media, digital advertising, search engine optimization (SEO), and search engine marketing (SEM)


      Education and/or Experience

      • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or a related field
      • Approximately 3-5 years of overall business experience, primarily in marketing roles


      Computer Skills  

      To perform the job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and Internet Explorer.   


      • Google Adwords (Certification preferred) and Google Analytics expertise
      • Photoshop and Graphics experience is a plus.


      Language Skills                                                

      Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.


      Mathematical Skills                                                     

      Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.


      Reasoning Ability      

      Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
