    This individual will collaborate with the Strategy & Analytics department and fellow IT team members to lead the development and maintenance of a variety of applications that allow individuals throughout the organization to best utilize predictive models and understand business drivers. This position requires strong software development skills and experience as well as a demonstrated ability for independent thought and working within a team framework.

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for design and development of user interfaces/experiences for all new and existing Business Operations systems.
    • Create additional application content and visualizations for organizational share, especially for mobile environments.
    • Extend existing API functionality.
    • Facilitate discussion between Strategy & Analytics department head and cross-departmental end users as it relates to building easy-to-use and intuitive interfaces that meet their needs.
    • Create tests and documentation around new features and functionality.
    • Aid as needed in creating necessary data structure to facilitate user-friendly analytical research to be conducted within Business Operations reporting systems and additional external applications.
    • Aid as needed to identify, diagnose and resolve data quality issues.

    Qualifications

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

    • Experience with software development, including requirements definition, design, development, testing, implementation, and iterative improvement.
    • Proficiency with web development technologies (including C#, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript and JavaScript frameworks). Strong understanding of desktop, laptop and mobile UI/UX design concepts and demonstrated ability to apply responsive design techniques. Experience writing and shipping code in these frameworks. Particularly focused on representing large data sets in easy-to-consume user interfaces.
    • Familiarity with continuous deployment pipelines such as TeamCity and Octopus Deploy.
    • Experience with an RDBMS, preferably Microsoft SQL server, and ORM technologies such as Entity Framework.
    • Working familiarity with data visualization and experience implementing graphical representations in software applications (familiarity with Python tools and Tableau a plus.)
    • Experience in Agile teams, particularly Scrum, is a plus.

    Education and/or Experience

    Bachelor's degree (B.S. or B.A.) in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field from four-year college or university; Master’s degree (M.S. or M.A.) preferred; and three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

     

    Computer Skills  

    To perform the job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and Internet Explorer.    

     

    Language Skills                                             

    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

     

    Mathematical Skills                                                   

    Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.  Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.

     

    Reasoning Ability      

    Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

    Work Hours                                                  

    Business hours are Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm, however, candidates must be capable of working extended hours such as overtime, nights, and weekends, when necessary.
