Overview

The Minor League Video Intern will film each game during the season for a minor league affiliate: Colorado Springs, Biloxi, Carolina, Appleton, and Helena.  

Responsibilities

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Film each game during the season for a minor league affiliate.
  • Chart each game in the BATS system live as the game is being played
  • Properly input video into BATS system
  • Coordinate with the Minor League Video Coordinator to upload games to main server
  • Assist coaches with post game report by providing them pertinent information
  • Assist coaches and players with video needs
  • Produce Advance Scouting Reports for players and coaches prior to each series.
  • Teach players how to use BATS System
  • Track video usage through monthly log
  • Responsible for proper maintenance and preparation of all computers, video cameras, and radar guns
  • Prepare reports as requested by Minor League Video Coordinator
  • Any other duties assigned by the Minor League Video Coordinator or affiliate coaching staff.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Ability to work all affiliate games.
  • Must be self motivated and able to accomplish goals with little supervision.
  • Qualified candidates will feel comfortable working with video and technology.
  • Strong communication skills are essential.
  • Must be able to handle multiple responsibilities and prioritize tasks.
  • All candidates must be able to identify pitch types without the help of a radar gun.
  • Enthusiasm for working in baseball.

Education and/or Experience

Candidates must be currently enrolled or have recently graduated from an accredited college or university pursuing a degree or certification in a related field.

 

Computer Skills 

To perform the job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and Internet Explorer.               

 

Work Hours                                                  

Hours vary according to the game and event schedule.  Candidates must be able to work all affiliate games and be capable of working extended hours such as overtime, nights and weekends when necessary.
