Overview

The Director – Sales will be responsible for forming strategic partnerships and building revenue through sponsorship, skybox and ticket sales packages. Compensation package includes base salary plus commission plan.

Responsibilities

  • Research and identify targets that fall in line with values of the organization
  • Meet department goals by effectively leading sales team and reaching individuals goals set by the VP & General Manager
  • Create and maintain sponsorship and ticket sales partnerships to build revenue for the organization
  • Train new sales representative to reach organizational sales goals
  • Assist in the ongoing training of salespeople to refine sales skills.
  • Build prospect lists
  • Manage inventory
  • Pull tarp on field as necessary

Supervisory Responsibilities                                     

Directly supervises up to 2 employees in Sales, as well as the overall services provided by the ticket sales team. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Computer Skills  

To perform the job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and Internet Explorer.    

 

Other Skills and Abilities

  • Prior sports and entertainment industry experience preferred

Language Skills                                             

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

 

Mathematical Skills                                                   

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

 

Reasoning Ability      

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions, which may include heat, cold and various forms of precipitation. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

 

Work Hours                                                  

Business hours are Monday – Friday 8:30 am – 5pm, however, additional hours may be required on weekends, evenings and some holidays.
